| | To the Residents of Palmetto Pines,
It is with great sadness that I must inform you that I have resigned from the Board of
Directors
A year ago August, I met with a group of people who were outraged about the trespass upon Domenic Mucciciaro's property, to destroy his dock, at the instigation of the previous Board. We all felt that Palmetto Pines needed a new Board that would listen to the homeowners and adhere to the deed restrictions. Discussions were held and information was given to whomever wanted it about state law, deed restrictions, and authority to enforce restrictions and rules and regulations.
My position was clear from the start and is represented by the information on the website at www.palmettopines.com. After much work, a quorum was reached and a new Board was elected, including myself. I looked forward to working with these people to set things right and bring Palmetto Pines Homeowners Association into compliance with our original documents and the Florida state law.
Unfortunately, at every turn, my opinion was dismissed and I found myself voting at odds with the Board because of my stand that we must adhere to our original documents and state law. I persevered to try to make my voice heard, in spite of pressure from unknown persons who called the Board of Health, County Code, and Animal Control to accuse me unjustly, and in spite of a lawsuit that accused me of things I did not do and tried to remove my constitutional right to speak out.
Since the management company, at the Boards' direction, has seen fit, since June, to exclude me from the proper Association information and records that all legal Board members are entitled to, and since I see this pattern repeating itself in the future, I have decided to resign my position on the Board and leave the current members to their own chosen path.
Please believe that I will continue to research the law and fight to get a Board that is responsive to the law and what is legal and right for the homeowners of Palmetto Pines.
It has been an honor trying to serve you.
Sincerely,
Donald C. Hulse
